The Skills Development and Training

These are educational workshops and tours aimed at schools and youth that want to learn more about the history and former residents of Constantia.

The Skills Development and Training is the division of CHEP that will host public
seminars and courses. The seminars and courses shall be centred on themes relevant to understanding the legacy of slavery on the lived experience of people living in the Cape, and the creation of living communities following emancipation.

This project is forward-looking in a way that seeks to capacitate youth with practical skills to navigate their way through the current political and economic impasse South African youth find themselves in.

Courses will be open to the public, and shall include skills development workshops for unemployed youth, such as food sovereignty (organic micro-farming), oral history skills, politics and history. This project is designed to translate knowledge of the past into empowerment for the present.
